Compress image online, free and private
Make JPG, PNG and WebP images smaller for email, websites and forms. Pick a quality level, optionally resize, and download one file or all of them as a ZIP.
Your files never leave your device. Compression runs inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server. You can check this yourself in your browser's developer tools (Network tab).
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Your images are compressed by your own browser on your own device. They are never sent to us or anyone else, which also makes it fast: there is no upload or download wait.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no account needed.
Which formats and sizes are supported?
JPG (JPEG), PNG and WebP, up to 20 MB per image. You can add many images at once.
How much smaller will my images get?
Photos often shrink by 40–80% at the default quality, and more if you also resize them. Images that are already well optimized may barely shrink; in that case you get the original back rather than a bigger file.
Will I lose quality?
Compression is lossy, but at 70–80% quality the difference is hard to see for most photos. Use the slider to find the balance you like, and re-apply settings without adding the files again.
Is photo metadata removed?
Yes. Hidden EXIF data, such as camera details and GPS location, is removed from the compressed file.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on desktop and mobile.
