About SqueezeKit

SqueezeKit is a simple tool for making JPG, PNG and WebP images smaller. It is free to use and needs no account.

Why it works in your browser

Most online compressors upload your images to their servers. That means waiting for uploads and trusting a stranger with your photos, screenshots and documents. SqueezeKit does the work on your own device instead, so your images never leave it.

How it works

When you add an image, your browser decodes it, optionally resizes it, and re-encodes it at the quality you choose. The work runs in a background thread (a Web Worker) so the page stays responsive. The result is held in your browser's memory until you download it or close the tab.
